Our client is seeking a Service Delivery & Transition Manager to lead the next stage of the programme, following the completion of the initial design phase and approval of a business case. The role will focus on the procurement of an End User Computing (EUC) supplier, working through the transition from the current service to a new supplier. This will involve supporting the procurement process, ensuring service requirements are clearly defined, and managing the transition and operational readiness activities through to successful implementation.
Responsibilities include:
- Produce and manage the first complete version of an end-to-end transition plan aligned with programme milestones and operational readiness.
- Act as the central point of contact between the business and suppliers, maintaining alignment on expectations and responsibilities through regular meetings, communications and appropriate follow-up.
- Ensure business requirements, operational needs and supplier capabilities are understood, agreed and documented.
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, providing timely information and maintaining an appropriate and effective level of engagement.
- Plan and oversee service acceptance testing and go-live rehearsals.
- Assess new suppliers in detail to confirm their capability to meet delivery requirements, supported by thorough documentation and stakeholder assurance.
- Complete the integration of the new service in line with agreed acceptance criteria.
- Oversee the handover into business as usual, ensuring comprehensive documentation is provided and BAU teams are fully prepared to support the smooth operation of the new service.
Skills & Experience include:
- Strong End User Computing (EUC) experience, ideally gained within a large or complex technology environment.
- Proven experience delivering service transition and service delivery programmes, particularly transitions between incumbent and new suppliers.
- Strong working knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and the wider EUC environment, with the ability to understand technical dependencies and service requirements.
- Experience working through supplier procurement, reprocurement or mobilisation, ideally involving the transition of an outsourced technology service.
- Experience of public procurement processes and, ideally, delivering technology service transitions within a public sector environment.
- Proven experience developing and managing end-to-end transition plans, including operational readiness, service acceptance, testing and go-live.
- Strong supplier management experience, including assessing supplier capability, managing expectations and ensuring delivery against agreed requirements.
- Experience managing service acceptance testing, go-live rehearsals and operational readiness activities.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work across business, technical, procurement and supplier teams.
- Experience managing handover into BAU, including documentation, knowledge transfer and ensuring support teams are ready to operate the new service.
- Strong understanding of service management, governance and operational processes, with the ability to identify risks, dependencies and gaps throughout transition.
