Quality Inspector

Morson is collaborating with a leading defence manufacturer to recruit a Quality Inspector with expertise in non-conformance inspections to join the team based in Bolton.

• Pay rate £40-45/hour Umbrella
• Location: Hybrid working – four days on site, one day remote
• Security Clearance: SC Clearance eligibility required
• Contract length: 12 months

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Quality Inspector to join our Quality Team, supporting Manufacturing departments across the UK. This role offers an excellent opportunity to maintain and enhance quality standards within a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide frontline support in managing non-conformances for Manufacturing teams, including administration of non-conformity reports and containment actions
• Facilitate non-conformance meetings on the shop floor, clearly communicating product information and escalating issues when necessary
• Conduct operational surveillance and certification monitoring within Manufacturing areas to ensure compliance with standards
• Lead Gemba walks to identify process improvement opportunities and implement effective solutions
• Carry out as-built verification checks to confirm accuracy and adherence to established standards

Person Specification

• Comprehensive knowledge of quality inspection processes and standards
• Proven experience in non-conformance management
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills
• Competent in conducting Gemba walks and shop floor inspections
• Familiarity with SAP or equivalent ERP systems
• Strong planning and organisational abilities
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective problem-solving and analytical skills
• Self-motivated with resilience and determination
• Understanding of manufacturing processes and certification requirements
