Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessment (PSHA) Engineer - Nuclear

Location: Pickering / Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Job Type: 12-Month Contract
Work Arrangement: Primarily remote/hybrid; onsite attendance rarely required based on project needs
Compensation: $90-$120/hr (INC)

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced engineer with expertise in Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA) to support nuclear projects and utility stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing PSHA studies, supporting seismic risk evaluations, and providing technical analysis within a regulated nuclear environment.

This role is well suited for candidates with strong seismic probabilistic risk assessment experience and familiarity with nuclear industry standards and methodologies.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and review Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Assessments (PSHA)
• Develop and review PSHA technical reports and supporting documentation
• Interface directly with utility stakeholders and project teams
• Prepare and review engineering analyses and calculations supporting PSHA evaluations
• Support seismic probabilistic risk assessment activities for nuclear applications
• Ensure technical deliverables meet applicable regulatory and quality standards

Required Qualifications

• Ontario Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in good standing
• Completion of EPRI Seismic Probabilistic Risk Assessment Training (Training 3002015162)
• Strong understanding of probabilistic seismic hazard methodologies and seismic risk assessment principles
• Experience preparing and/or reviewing technical engineering reports and calculations
• Ability to work effectively with utility clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Nuclear industry experience
• Experience supporting Canadian nuclear utilities or nuclear refurbishment/new build projects
• Familiarity with applicable nuclear codes, standards, and regulatory requirement
