Are we doing enough to support neurodivergent talent and how can we improve outcomes for employers and candidates?

recruitment process neurodiversity

We’ve recently published new research revealing significant opportunities for UK employers to access neurodivergent talent pools through more inclusive recruitment practices. The whitepaper, released during Disability Pride Month, contains valuable insights into how organisations can refine processes typically designed to accommodate the ‘norm’ to better attract and assess neurodivergent candidates.

With The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) estimating a shortfall of more than 173,000 workers in the STEM sector – an average of 10 unfilled roles per business – we feel the timing of this research is particularly relevant for companies competing for talent.

Our research is based on an inclusive recruitment survey distributed across our candidate network, identifying areas where well-intentioned recruitment practices may unintentionally create barriers for neurodivergent individuals, an estimated 1 in 7 people.
