Overview
We are seeking an experienced Marketing Cloud Delivery Lead / Salesforce Marketing Cloud Program Manager to join an enterprise-scale digital transformation programme during a critical phase of delivery.
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of an established programme entering its phased go-live period. You’ll be responsible for rapidly onboarding into an existing delivery, understanding the complete programme landscape, and driving execution through multiple go-live milestones over the next six months.
Working within an Agile environment, you’ll coordinate a Global Systems Integrator (UK and offshore delivery teams), Salesforce Professional Services, internal technology teams, and senior business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery against demanding timelines.
This role requires a delivery-focused leader who is equally comfortable discussing technical issues with engineering teams and communicating programme status, risks and decisions with executive stakeholders.
The Role
As the Marketing Cloud Delivery Lead, you will:
- Rapidly onboard into an existing programme and gain a detailed understanding of all workstreams, dependencies and delivery risks.
- Own the phased go-live plan and drive day-to-day programme execution to ensure delivery milestones are achieved.
- Lead delivery across internal technology teams, a Global Systems Integrator, offshore resources and Salesforce technical specialists.
- Coordinate technical, business and delivery activities to ensure quality, readiness and successful deployments.
- Identify delivery risks early, remove blockers and implement pragmatic mitigation plans.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies, programme governance and delivery planning.
- Oversee testing, deployment readiness, release management and cutover activities.
- Translate technical issues and delivery risks into clear business recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Manage programme communications, governance, reporting and executive-level updates.
- Drive accountability across multiple delivery teams and maintain momentum during a high-pressure implementation.
Essential Experience
We’re looking for candidates who demonstrate:
- Proven experience leading large-scale Salesforce Marketing Cloud implementations or equivalent enterprise marketing platform programmes.
- Experience joining programmes mid-delivery and successfully driving complex implementations through to go-live.
- Strong programme or delivery management experience within Agile environments.
- Experience managing Global Systems Integrators, third-party vendors and offshore delivery teams.
- Strong technical understanding of marketing technology ecosystems and enterprise integrations.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams with significant interdependencies.
- Strong governance, risk management and programme reporting skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level engagement.
- Experience managing phased go-lives, release management and cutover activities.
Technical Knowledge
You’ll ideally have experience or strong familiarity with:
- CRM integrations (Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Dynamics or similar)
- APIs, webhooks, JSON and XML
- SQL and data modelling
- ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend or Fivetran
- Campaign data integrations and customer data flows
- Marketing scripting and personalisation technologies (AMPscript, SSJS, Liquid, Handlebars or similar)
- QA, testing, deployment pipelines and release management
Leadership Experience
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate experience of:
- Leading complex, late-stage enterprise implementations
- Managing multiple technical and business stakeholders
- Coordinating cross-functional and geographically distributed teams
- Driving delivery under tight timescales
- Making informed decisions under pressure
- Escalating issues appropriately while maintaining programme momentum
- Translating technical challenges into business-focused decisions
