Are you an experienced Buyer looking to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business? We’re recruiting for a commercially focused procurement professional to support the sourcing of materials, components and services that underpin the delivery of complex engineering programmes.

This is an excellent opportunity to join an established procurement team where you’ll manage supplier relationships, negotiate commercial agreements and play a key role in driving supplier performance, cost efficiency and supply chain resilience.

What you’ll be doing

• Managing end-to-end purchasing activities across a portfolio of suppliers.

• Running supplier sourcing exercises, including RFQs, tendering and supplier evaluations.

• Negotiating pricing, lead times and commercial agreements with suppliers.

• Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost and delivery targets are achieved.

• Monitoring supplier performance and implementing improvement plans where required.

• Working closely with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams to support business requirements.

• Maintaining purchasing data and supplier records within ERP systems.

• Resolving supplier issues and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

• Supporting procurement strategy and category activities where required.

• Ensuring purchasing activities comply with company procedures and relevant legislation.

What you’ll bring

• Previous experience as a Buyer, Procurement Specialist or Purchasing professional within a manufacturing or engineering environment.

• Experience managing suppliers and negotiating commercial agreements.

• Knowledge of procurement processes, supplier selection and sourcing activities.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Experience using ERP/MRP or purchasing systems.

• Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.

Desirable experience

• CIPS qualification or working towards CIPS.

• Experience within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, automotive or other regulated industries.

• Knowledge of Lean or Continuous Improvement principles.

• Project management experience.
